Florida State Tops Brooklyn in Gabrielli National Family Law Competition

Jeff Timmerman and Clay Adkinson of Florida State University College of Law won the Seventeenth Annual Domenick L. Gabrielli National Family Law Competition, sponsored by Albany Law School.  They edged Nora Meltzer, Lindsay Cutler, and Nadeen Aljijakli from Brooklyn Law School.

The finalist teams swept the competition's other awards.  Mr. Adkinson of FSU was named the Best Oral Advocate, and Brooklyn's team won the Best Brief award.

The FSU team was coached by the Honorable Edwin B. Browning, Jr. of the First District Court of Appeals in Florida.  Judge Browning was one of four current members of the First District Court of Appeals to coach and travel with FSU teams this year.
