Blake Eno, Stephen Graham, and Debra Hunter from the Georgia State University College of Law won the 2005 Georgia Intrastate Moot Court Competition at Emory Univerisity. The competition was attended by teams from Emory, the University of Georgia, Mercer University, and Georgia State.
Students from Mercer University School of Law finished in second place. Mercer also reports
that three of its students placed among the competition's top five
oralists: Rebecca McKelvey (second best oralist), Zach McEntyre
(third), and Ann Patton Nelson (fifth).
Students from University of Georgia School of Law's superb moot court program
had an excellent tournament as well. Jason Burnette was named the Best
Oralist. He and his teammates, Satura McPherson and Andy Tuck, won the
Best Brief Award. This team and a second Georgia Law team -- composed
of Taylor Chamberlin, Zachary Faison, and Josh Gunneman -- advanced to
the semifinal round.
